- No. Substation Explorer requires no programming to configure. All set-up of the HMI displays is done through drag and drop operations.
Can I issue controls from the Substation Explorer environment, and if I can, how do I restrict user access to controlling objects?
- Yes you can issue controls from Substation Explorer. Substation Explorer has security user levels built-in so that unauthorized persons are not capable of issuing controls.
What protocols can Substation Explorer talk?
- Substation Explorer currently supports the Modbus and DNP 3.0 protocols. The design team is currently working on implementing IEC-870 and other various protocols in Substation Explorer's protocol library.
What operating system is required for Substation Explorer?
- Substation Explorer has been designed to run on advanced Microsoft® Windows 32-bit operating systems: NT / 2000.
