Substation Network Monitor
Why drive a Protocol Test Set to the substation to troubleshoot a communication link? With Substation Network Monitor, utilities can monitor these protocol communications securely from their desk.
Substation Network Monitor transforms your Substation PC into a permanent Protocol Analyzer capable of monitoring all of your key substation communication links. A sister product of the
ASE2000 test set, Substation Network Monitor supports a library of over 40 SCADA protocols.
With the Substation Network Monitor, the Substation PC would be permanently cabled to be able to ‘Listen In’ on your key communication links. Authorized utility personnel can establish a network connection between their corporate PC and the Substation PC via a password-protected interface. Once connected utility personnel can enable analysis of the communication channel and remotely diagnose communication problems. The Substation Network Monitor can also be configured to monitor a communication channel and capture communication errors when they occur. These capture files can then be viewed and analyzed in your
ASE2000 Test Set.
These features can represent substantial savings to utilities as it eliminates the need for personnel to drive to the substation, and hook up the test set to troubleshoot intermittent communication problems. |
