Substation Explorer & Substation Suite

Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association
“Substation Suite: In the design process of a six breaker ring bus switching station with six lines and total of seventeen Schweitzer relays, I had to come up with a way to display all the alarms and analog information locally and send it to the SCADA system.

After careful evaluation off all my available options, I decided to call on SUBNET Solutions Inc. and employ their Substation Suite software. I am glad that I was aware of the product and I am happy with the decision I made. I did not have to prepare tons of drawings, and saved on both wiring and additional panels.

Substation Suite running on a PC with Microsoft Windows operating system was very easy to program and operate. It displays station one lines with real time status and all other required status and analogs points plus historical station alarms. I made the correct decision and will do it again."
Michael Mansour - Assistant Engineering Mgr

Brookings Municipal Utilities

"
SubstationSERVER.NET has totally changed the way I work. We save so much time in configuration development becuase of its easy to use interface and flexability. This software is worth every penny!"
Jerrod Moll - Automation and Integration Engineer

Trans Alta Utilities Corporation
"The primary reasons for going to Substation Explorer, as our HMI software, on our Enbridge project are:
The software is designed around a substation environment, not a modified process environment, the software is economical in comparison to other packages, the software is a lot easier to configure and maintain than other packages we have used"
Marlowe Ulriksen - Senior Engineer

Automation Technologies and Services (ATS)
“Automation Technologies and Services, LLC of Oxford, CT (ATS) installed a redundant Front End Processor (FEP) at the Jackson, Michigan CMS location for the purpose of collecting their customers interchange data. There was a need for a local "Real Time" data display to view not only the interchange data, but also communication statistics and other related diagnostic information. It was decided to use the Subnet Solutions Substation Explorer as the local MMI for the FEP. We chose Substation Suite as our package as it was an inexpensive solution that could do the single line and alarm annuciator screens that were needed. With no previous experience with Substation Explorer, ATS was able to interrogate the FEP using the DNP3 protocol, create metering pages and alarm annuciator pages, in less than two hours. Configuration of Substation Explorer is very intuitive and the few questions we had were answered by the built-in help system.”
Ralph E. Bugg - Automation Technologies and Services (ATS)

Fort Collins Power and Water
"I was VERY excited with the "simplicity" that is designed into your product. I have seen many other software packages that do close to the same thing but with tremendous complication and effort."
Brad Burke - Network Application Specialist

Georgia Transmission Company

“We particularly like how the data is always right in front of us, enabling us to monitor the condition of the entire substation at all times. The Windows™ look and feel also makes it very easy to program and use, as the commands are in the Windows-standard format.
We like the functionality of the E-mail folder. Should a critical alarm be issued, we will always know immediately. The product will e-mail our text pagers and we can react before the situation worsens. We believe that Substation Explorer™ is going to work very well with our new frame relay network. Our future plans include utilizing the web server features to make the data available to everyone in the organization.”
David VanWinkle - Manager of Electronic Maintenance

MyIEDs EnterpriseSERVER™

Alabama Power Company
"EnterpriseSERVER is terrific - it gives us one central location for security and configuration changes, and on top of that, our engineers and technicians no longer have to go out into the field to get data, since they can get what they need right from their desk."
Jerrod Moll - Automation and Integration Engineer
